The ATM/DEBIT card has two valuable uses:
1) The card gives you instant access to the funds you have available at the credit union. When used as an ATM card you can go to any Automated Teller Machine that displays the STAR, Visa, Instakey, or CIRRUS logo and withdraw funds, transfer funds, or just view your account balances.
2) The card gives you the ability to make purchases from your credit union share draft account anywhere VISA Debit cards are accepted. Many stores will give you an option to get cash back with your purchase which may save you a trip to the ATM.
